Alta California refers to a time before this land was claimed and divided by the U.S. That history still echoes today, especially when people are made to feel unwelcome on ground their ancestors helped build. Created in 2009 by Alex Day (@apday) for Death & Co. (@deathandcompany), this one is clean and layered. Tequila leads in this spirit-forward cocktail, while the Chartreuse adds herbal complexity. The cinnamon sits quietly in the background but brings it all together.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 2 oz · 60 mltequila blanco
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlwhite vermouth (blanc)
- ½ oz · 15 mlYellow Chartreuse
- ¼ tspcinnamon syrup
Method

Add all ingredients to mixing glass.

Stir with ice until chilled.

Strain into a coupe or Nick and Nora.

No garnish.
