I’ll keep this one short and sweet. I’ve never liked amaretto sours until I tried Jeff Morgenthaler’s (@jeffmorgen) recipe. The healthy pour of lemon and high proof bourbon cut through the sweetness of the amaretto perfectly. If you’ve never made these specs, give it a go!Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 1½ oz · 45 mlamaretto
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlcask-strength bourbon
- 1 oz · 30 mlfresh lemon juice
- 1 tsprich simple syrup
- fresh egg white or foamer of choice
Method
- 1
Add all ingredients to shaker tin.
- 2
Shake without ice (“dry shake”).
- 3
Add ice.
- 4
Shake until chilled.
- 5
Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
- 6
Garnish with lemon twist and maraschino cherry.
