This cocktail was created in 2014 by Erick Castro (@hungrybartender) for the opening menu at Boilermaker in New York City. It has the equal-parts structure of a Negroni, but Montenegro gives the drink a softer citrusy bitterness alongside the darker edge of Punt e Mes. The lemon peel oil brightens up all those rich and herbal flavors.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 1 oz · 30 mlaged rum
- 1 oz · 30 mlAmaro Montenegro
- 1 oz · 30 mlPunt e Mes
- lemon peel oil
Method
- 1
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass.

Add ice and stir until chilled.

Strain into a rocks glass over ice.

Express lemon peel oil over the surface.
- 5
Garnish with a lemon twist.
