This cocktail was created by Emre Sisman (@emresisman._), who sent me the recipe directly. Coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, and espresso are pretty much guaranteed to get my attention, and the Demerara rum gives all of that a rich base to work with. It is very much my kind of Espresso Martini riff. And despite the name, this is not to be confused with Jeff “Beachbum” Berry’s Castaway, a rum, coffee liqueur, and pineapple drinkCheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 1½ oz · 45 mlDemerara rum
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlcoconut rum
- ½ oz · 15 mlLicor 43
- 1½ oz · 45 mlespresso
- ¼ oz · 7.5 mlcinnamon syrup
Method

Add all ingredients to a shaker tin.
- 2
Add ice and shake until chilled.
- 3
Strain into a chilled coupe.
- 4
Garnish with three coffee beans arranged in a line.
