Meet the classic cocktail that is often forgotten because the prevalence of its sibling, Corpse Reviver No. 2. Honestly, I think this one might be my favorite. It is said that Frank Meier created it in 1920s at the Ritz Bar in Paris. Though, these specs are by Frank Caiafa, who added orange bitters to the recipe.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 1½ oz · 45 mlcognac
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlCalvados
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlsweet vermouth
- 1 dashorange bitters
- orange peel oil
Method
- 1
Add all ingredients to mixing glass.

Stir with ice until chilled.
- 3
Strain into a coupe or Nick and Nora.
- 4
Express orange peel over surface.
- 5
Garnish with orange twist (optional).
