About
This cocktail was created by Raven Mina (@zenraisin) at Death & Co (@deathandcompany) Los Angeles in 2023 as a riff on the Caipirinha. Mina wanted it to be one of the easiest drinks on the menu and paired grassy silver cachaça with Amburana-aged cachaça, whose warmer baking-spice character gives the split base a lot more depth. Mango and Aperol bring fruit and a little bitterness, while lime keeps everything bright. The pinch of cayenne builds some subtle heat underneath the fruit and was inspired by Matthew Belanger’s Straight Razor. Death & Co also notes that the drink was originally developed with passionfruit before Mina switched to mango for its richer texture.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 1 oz · 30 mlsilver cachaça (Novo Fogo)
- 1 oz · 30 mlAmburana-aged cachaça (Avuá)
- ½ oz · 15 mlAperol
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlfresh lime juice
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlmango syrup
- 1 pinchcayenne pepper

Add all ingredients to a shaker tin.

Add ice and shake until chilled.

Strain into a double rocks glass over large-format ice.

Garnish with a lime wheel dusted with cayenne pepper.
