This cocktail was created by Isaiah LaBelle (@onesipclub). Fernet and banana are one of those pairings that just works. Rye and Fernet already have history together in the Toronto, and this one feels like it sits somewhere between that and the Away Colors by Zack Gelnaw-Rubin (añejo rum, banana, Fernet). The Jamaican rum brings some funk, the rye keeps the structure, and the banana softens the edges of the Fernet nicely.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 1 oz · 30 mloverproof Jamaican rum
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlrye whiskey
- ½ oz · 15 mlFernet Branca
- ½ oz · 15 mlbanana liqueur
- 1 tsp · 5 mldemerara syrup
- 2 dashesAngostura bitters
Method

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass.

Add ice and stir until chilled.

Strain into a rocks glass over large-format ice.

Garnish with a banana leaf (optional) or banana chip.
