Gun Metal Blue
About
This cocktail was created by Mike Shain and Nicholas Bennett (@thenickb) at Porchlight (@porchlightbar) in New York City in 2015. The original uses a bitter cinnamon syrup infused with gentian root, adding a little extra bitterness alongside the cinnamon. Mezcal, peach, lime, and blue curaçao make for a bright, fruity sour with a little more depth than the color might suggest. Mine came out a deeper blue because I used a homemade curaçao, and the foam on top is from the gum arabic in the cinnamon syrup I used, which foams up when shaken vigorously.Cheers y’all!
