About
This cocktail was created by Leandro DiMonriva (@theeducatedbarfly) as a riff on the classic Brooklynite. He keeps the rum, lime, honey, and Angostura structure of the original, but splits the rum base and adds a little heat to push it in a more modern direction. His published recipe calls for 2 dashes of Firewater bitters, while in the video he uses a few drops of Bittermens habanero tincture, which is the direction I went here. The honey works especially well with the richer rum notes, while lime keeps everything bright and the habanero leaves a little warmth on the finish.Cheers y’all!
