This Jungle Bird riff was created by David (@bottomshelfdav). Instead of Campari, he swaps in Fernet Branca, but otherwise keeps things pretty true to the original template. The Fernet brings a spiced, herbal edge that shifts the drink just enough, making it feel like a nice bridge from winter into spring.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 1½ oz · 45 mlJamaican rum blend (Doctor Bird and Coruba)
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlFernet Branca
- 1½ oz · 45 mlpineapple juice
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlfresh lime juice
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mldemerara syrup
Method
- 1
Add all ingredients to a shaker tin.

Add a small amount of crushed ice and whip shake until chilled.

Dirty dump into a glass or tiki mug.
- 4
Top with crushed or pebble ice.
- 5
Garnish with pineapple fronds and a pineapple slice (optional).
