This Last Word riff was created by David Jordan Melia (@speakeasieruk). Mezcal brings the smoke, which pairs well with the bite you can get from the chile liqueur. The Aperol and lime help brighten the cocktail and bring a bit of sweetness to balance it out. On the nose, you get bright sweet orange aromas.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlmezcal
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlAncho Reyes chile liqueur
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlAperol
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlfresh lime juice
- orange peel oil
Method

Add all ingredients to shaker tin.

Shake with ice until chilled.
- 3
Fine strain into coupe or Nick and Nora.
- 4
Express orange peel over surface.
- 5
Garnish with orange twist.
