This Last Word riff was created by Phil Ward in 2008 for Death & Company (NYC). Ward says, “It doesn't make sense, but peaty Scotch and lime juice are amazing together, so I used this surprising combo in a variation on the Last Word." This one is herbaceous, smoky, and has a bit of cherry flavor.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlsmoky scotch (e.g., Laphroaig)
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlGreen Chartreuse
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlmaraschino liqueur
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlfresh lime juice
Method

Add all ingredients to shaker tin.

Shake with ice until chilled.

Fine strain into coupe or Nick and Nora.
- 4
Garnish with maraschino cherry (optional).
