This cocktail is by Clay Kirkland (@wisecraft_mixology) and is their take on a rum old fashioned. What originally started out to them as a sweet old fashioned was tweaked by the addition of a bitter red liqueur (Campari). I’m obsessed. I have now made this several times and hope you do too.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 2 oz · 60 mlaged rum
- ¼ oz · 7.5 mlCampari
- ¼ oz · 7.5 mldemerara gum syrup
- 3 dashesAngostura bitters
- orange peel oil
Method
- 1
Add all ingredients to mixing glass.
- 2
Stir with ice until chilled.
- 3
Strain into a glass over a BFC.
- 4
Express orange peel oil over the surface.
- 5
Garnish with orange twist.
