About
This cocktail was created by José Cardenas at Diamond Reef in New York City around 2019. It is a tequila-based variation on the Falls Cocktail, shifting that drink’s bourbon, lemon, ginger, mint, and bitters framework toward agave and Aperol. Cucumber brings a crisp, cooling quality to the lemon and ginger, while Aperol adds a softer bittersweet edge that keeps the drink from reading like a straightforward tequila sour. The salted cucumber garnish reinforces the drink’s fresh, savory side and gives the finish a little extra contrast.Cheers y’all!
