I don’t often mix with Irish whiskey, but I’m so happy to have made this one. This classic cocktail dates back to 1916, where it was featured in Hugo Ensslin’s “Recipes for Mixed Drinks.” It has gone through some workshopping since then, with this recipe leaning more on the Irish whiskey. A perfect nightcap.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 1½ oz · 45 mlIrish whiskey
- 1 oz · 30 mlsweet vermouth
- ½ oz · 15 mlGreen Chartreuse
- 2–3 dashesAngostura bitters
- orange peel oil
Method
- 1
Add all ingredients to mixing glass.

Stir with ice until chilled.

Strain into a coupe or Nick and Nora.

Express orange peel oil over surface.
- 5
Garnish with orange twist.
