About
This drink was created by Michael Yusko for Cure (New Orleans, LA). Yusko aimed to make use of a neglected bottle of Licor 43, a citrus and vanilla-flavored liqueur popular in Spain, by incorporating it into a rum-based Manhattan variation. He named this after a quote from the 1992 Hal Hartley film Simple Men.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 2 oz · 60 mlaged rum (Guyana)
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlsweet vermouth
- ½ oz · 15 mlJamaican rum
- ½ oz · 15 mlLicor 43
- orange peel oil
Method

Add all ingredients to mixing glass.

Stir with ice until chilled.

Strain into a glass over a BFC.
- 4
Express orange peel oil over surface.
- 5
Garnish with orange twist.
