About
This cocktail was created by Billy Helmkamp in 2011 at The Whistler (@whistlerchicago) in Chicago, Illinois. As Billy put it, if a Greenpoint uses Yellow Chartreuse, it stood to reason that a Yellowpoint should lean into Green Chartreuse instead. Beyond that swap and a few slight adjustments, this build uses Punt e Mes rather than standard sweet vermouth, adding a firmer bitter edge and darker depth. Green Chartreuse brings a more assertive herbal character and sharper intensity compared to the softer, honeyed quality of Yellow Chartreuse.Cheers y’all!
