About
This cocktail was created by Lorena Vásquez, Zacapa’s Master Blender, to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary and its roots in Guatemala. I made it as part of paid work with Zacapa. Structurally, it is essentially a Daiquiri with soda water and a little extra orange from the bitters and expressed peel. The soda lengthens the drink and keeps it especially refreshing, while the orange adds another layer of citrus around the rum, lime, and sugar. A quitapenas pin on the glass was part of the original presentation as a nod to Guatemalan culture and the anniversary celebration.Cheers y’all!
