About
This cocktail was created in 2011 by Ezra Star (@softestbullet) at Drink in Boston. It was named for the year the Mexican Revolution began, playing off Drink’s house cocktail, the 1919, which referenced Boston’s Great Molasses Flood. The connection goes beyond the numbered names, with both drinks built as spirit-forward Manhattan variations around Punt e Mes. Here, mezcal and Cognac create a smoky but rounded base, while maraschino and Peychaud’s add fruit and spice.Cheers y’all!
