This cocktail was created by Julia and Chris Tunstall (@abarabove). The name came first after Chris joked that a drink full of obscure ingredients at Trick Dog in San Francisco was turning him into a hipster. They then built this cocktail around that idea, using an equal-parts template with rye, Fernet, maraschino, and lemon. It is bright, herbal, slightly bitter, and apparently capable of turning anyone into a Rye and Fernet guzzling hipster. Suspenders and a twirly mustache remain optional.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlrye whiskey
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlFernet Branca
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlmaraschino liqueur
- ¾ oz · 22.5 mlfresh lemon juice
- lemon peel oil
Method
- 1
Add all ingredients to a shaker tin.

Add ice and shake until chilled.

Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick and Nora.

Express lemon peel oil over the surface.
- 5
Garnish with a lemon twist and cherry (omitted)
