About
This cocktail was created in 2018 by Frederic Yarm (@fredericyarm) as a mashup of the Corpse Reviver No. 1 and the Vieux Carré. Yarm has written about how adding Bénédictine and Peychaud’s bitters elevated other classic templates, and here he applies that same logic to the brandy-based Corpse Reviver. I’m a fan of both the Corpse Reviver No. 1 and the Vieux Carré, so this hybrid was an easy yes for me. It keeps the richness of the original while gaining the herbal depth and spice that make the Vieux Carré so compelling. Fittingly, it’s also the first day of Mardi Gras.Cheers y’all!
