About
This cocktail was created in 2018 by Sother Teague (@creativedrunk) as a riff on the Vieux Carré, specifically with Zacapa No. 23 in mind. That made it a pretty obvious choice when I was creating content as part of paid work with Zacapa. The rum brings a rich, rounded character, while rye adds spice and structure. Sweet vermouth and dry curaçao bring herbal and orange notes, with two styles of bitters adding another layer of spice and complexity. The name also gives a nod to Zacapa’s Guatemalan roots.Cheers y’all!
