About
This cocktail was originally shared by The Violet Hour (@violethourchicago) on Instagram around 2021. It keeps almost everything you would expect from a Sazerac: rye, sugar, Peychaud’s bitters, an absinthe rinse, and lemon oil, but adds a quarter ounce of Batavia Arrack. That small addition brings a funky, slightly earthy character that makes the drink feel noticeably different without losing the Sazerac underneath. Cheers y’all!
