About
This cocktail is a riff on the Expat, which originated at Little Branch in New York City. In this variation, Josh Leos (@irrelevantbartender) from Noble Experiment in San Diego brings Amaro Montenegro into the mix by doing a Napoleon split and dialing the base down from 2 oz. of bourbon to 1½ oz.
What I love about this build is how easy it is to swap the base spirit and still land on something delicious. Josh suggests subbing mezcal for the bourbon. If you want to stay in the whiskey lane, try rye.Cheers y’all!
