About
This is my tequila riff on Shannon Mustipher’s (@shannonmustipher) Tigershark from her 2019 book Tiki: Modern Tropical Cocktails. The original uses coconut oil-washed bourbon, but I swapped in tequila (because I already had it on hand) while keeping the coconut wash, which felt deserving of the slightly revised name. Lemongrass syrup and falernum bring citrus, spice, and a little tropical sweetness, while lime keeps everything bright and Angostura adds another layer of warm spice. It is a pretty simple build once you have the coconut-washed spirit and lemongrass syrup ready, and one that works just as well with agave at the center.Cheers y’all!
