Isaiah (@onesipclub) and I were challenged by @the.drunkbaker to put our own spin on the Pyramid Scheme by Scott Teague (@scottjamesteague) using the Potato Head method. The rules were simple: swap one ingredient and keep everything to bottles you would find on a standard bar shelf. We took the drink in a darker, more bitter direction and landed on this bourbon-forward variation.Cheers y’all!
Ingredients
- 2 oz · 60 mlbourbon
- 1 oz · 30 mldry vermouth
- ½ oz · 15 mlCynar
- ¼ oz · 7.5 mlAverna
- 1 dashAngostura bitters
Method

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass.

Add ice and stir until chilled.

Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick and Nora.
- 4
Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
